Eight Questions To Ask A Custom Upholstery Service
We have worked with our clients for some time now and have a great understanding of designs and colors to match each other, which allows us to assist them with their design needs. We assist with the process of picking upholstery, so their rooms connect with the design that they are going for around the entire house. We work with them to understand their requirements and create customized solutions that match their requirements.
When picking a company to assist with the upholstery process, you want to make sure you select the right one. Other than the various options you can work with and the price point they charge, you want to make sure you coordinate the process better. These are some of the most common questions we get asked, and we documented them so others can make sure the company they are working with has similar answers. It is a good metric to begin the process.
1. What’s your process when it comes to custom upholstery?
We try to understand the style that the house is going for based on the location and architecture. We try to understand if there are any changes based on the interior decoration and furniture already in the house. We then work with our clients to get an understanding of what they are looking for and see if it matches the overall tone of their house. With all the information gathered, we are in a better position to get through the process and work on creating something that would match their home requirements.
2. Do you provide pickup and delivery services?
Depending on the cost of upholstery they purchased, and the various schemes we are working with at the time, we do assist. There are some instances wherein the client might be in another city, and we can assist them through the process, but might not provide them the delivery. Additionally, depending on the scheme that would be running at the time, there are other changes that they have to go through. When it comes to some changes, we might need the furniture sent to the store to change the fabric.
3. Do you have a sales representative that can come see my furniture and bring fabric samples?
We do have a professional team that assists with the process, and they would give you all the information that you would need to make a decision. They come to the house and check out the furniture and provide options that you can work with. They understand your requirements and bring the samples that best work based on the information you provided.
4. Can we come into your shop to see fabric samples?
We always allow our clients to come by and check out what they are looking for. There are some instances where we ask clients for an understanding of their requirements to make sure we have fabric samples ready at the store when they come to check them out. We work with a lot of the samples but sometimes do not have them at hand. If we receive some notice, we can get the samples and keep them ready for our clients. These would only be concerns if they are planning on working with fabric, color, or texture that is not mainstream.
5. Do you do wood refinishing or just upholstery?
Other than upholstery, we also work in doing up furniture if there is a requirement. Through the pandemic, we had many clients ask us about working on woodwork and changing cushioning in their houses or for their furniture. Depending on the requirements, which we have to better understand, we are open to working on fixing and assisting with the woodwork.
6. Can you help us color match fabric?
We have clients who would like to change the cushioning on their furniture to something else altogether. However, they would need it to match the room and to some extent, the rest of the house, which we are more than capable to assist with. Depending on our clients’ requirements, we can work with various fabrics and even provide them with substitutes, if others would work better.
7. What’s your lead time on this kind of project?
It would depend on the specifics and the amount of work. On average, if we are working on an upholstery process, it takes about a month for a project, but there have been a few where we had to go a lot longer because their scale of work was significantly high. Additionally, if there is furniture work needed and restoration, it would take a lot more time.
8. Can you help us figure out what kind of material is suitable for this project?
We work with our clients to give them all the options available to them. We even understand their price point, so we are in a better position to find solutions that would make sense to them. With all the information, we would give them the best deals and create substitutes that they can work with as well so they can choose within a range.
