Don't "Replace" when you can Renew!
With the cost of new furniture being so cheap, you may find yourself presented with the question "Is it worth recovering my old furniture?". The answer is Yes! Your old furniture isn't just constructed with better materials than it's newer counterpart, but it also holds much more sentimental value. So the real question you should be asking yourself is "Do I like my furniture?". Reupholstery allows you to retain not only your old memories, but also the quality craftsmanship that was put into constructing your old furniture.
How old is the furniture you want to reupholster?
The age of your furniture is a great indicator as to the quality of it's production. A good rule of thumb, is that if your sofa or love-seat is more then 30 years old, it's generally good quality and worth restoring or recovering. Most modern furniture comes off an assembly line and is made with cheap, glued together materials, whereas your old, quality furniture is typically made of Kiln-dried hardwood. The structure of the frame plays an important role in recovering that beautiful, custom made piece that you've enjoyed for years, and modern furniture rarely has the same look and comfortable feel.
Custom Made Furniture is generally worth recovering.
If you own Antique furniture it is definitely worth reupholstering whereas newer furniture may not. The experts at Nesco are always happy to help you determine whether it's worth restoring your Old and Used to New and Fresh!
